It has been a while since I have posted and I have been busy making Christmas presents.
Here are the three quilts that I have completed.
This quilt was for my brother-in-law who is a Virginia Tech Football fan. I used their colors and their logo in the center.

This one was for my sister-in-law who loves floral prints and I love the pinwheel pattern, it is one of my favorites.

This one was a baby quilt for a little girl.  My next project will be a quilt for my 17 year old niece's bed. She has decorated her room in a beach theme. Soft blues, seashells and star fish. I can't wait to get started.

Memorial Baby Quilt

This is the latest baby quilt that I made for a friends daughter who recently had a baby boy. It is what I call a memorial quilt because I placed a photo of the young mother's deceased brother in the center of the quilt. Anthony was a very special young man who God called home at he age of 17. He lived a full life in his short time on this earth and touched many hearts.

The quilt was a basic pinwheel design in blues, with a white border.

New baby quilt

I just went through my box of quilts and found that I had one for baby boy which is great, because I needed a gift. This one was made with leftover fabrics from previous projects and I tried to incorporate some different designs. I backed the quilt in purple, not a traditional baby color, but then I am not know to follow tradition.

Colege Quilt

I made this quilt for my friends son who is attending Appalachian State University in NC. It was one of the many patterns I have purchased over the years that I wanted to try. It may look complicated but it is really simple. The most difficult part was choosing the fabrics.

Crayon Baby Quilt

I recently finished a quilt for a baby shower that was inspired by the fact that the parents did not want to know the sex of the baby prior to birth. I looked through my many patterns and books and really could not decide on one that would be appropriate for either sex. Most of the patterns that I have tend to lend themselves to boy or girl and just changing the colors didn't really please me.
I saw a crayon quilt somewhere in my web surfing but could not find a pattern so I was forced to create my own. This is the result.
It was made with jelly roll strips and ribbon.  It was fun and I will probably make another one real soon.

Using up my stash

I have a lot of small pieces of fabric and parts of  designs left over from the many quilts that I have made. I decided to put a bunch of them together and came up with the idea to make an apron. I have made quite a few baby girl quilts over the years so this one is pink.
I think I am going to keep it for myself.

My Latest Projects.

Ever since I was a little girl, getting a new dress for Easter was always a big deal. As I got older and learned to sew, I would make myself a new dress. I had stopped doing this for many years and two years ago began the tradition again.
My goal is to make a dress that can be used for somewhat dressy occasions and casual occasions. I love wearing 'sun dresses' in the summer so I will get a lot of use from my  new creation.
I always wanted a polka-dot dress, so when I saw this fabric, I knew just what it would become!
Her is my Easter 2013 dress.
